Calistri has played in four games so far this season, coming on as a substitute on all four occasions. He played a career-high 37 minutes on April 30, his most recent appearance.
Fire coach Veljko Paunović had told The Daily last month that Calistri would see more playing time and had a chance to start during a busy, tiring May schedule for the Fire.
With star forward David Accam still out with an injury, Calistri will seek to take advantage of the opportunity to start when the Fire face the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night.
