Northwestern rolls Louisville in first round of NCAA Tournament
Northwestern cruised to an easy 15-5 win over Louisville in the first round of the NCAA tournament Friday night. With the win, NU advances to the second round of the tournament and will play Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, on Sunday.
Louisville beat the Wildcats 10-4 in the regular season, but the Cats flipped the tables in Friday night’s game. Senior midfielder Kaleigh Craig, freshman attacker Leighton Yenor and junior attacker Danita Stroup all recorded hat tricks. Sophomore midfielder Selena Lasota netted a career-tying 3 assists and also tallied 2 goals.
Mallory Weisse stone-walled the Louisville offense, recording 12 saves.
Sunday’s match against Notre Dame will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday.
